We were tasked with designing a light switch that encompassed the emotion and presence of one of four photos of nature we were shown. I chose a mountain range photograph (top right of the board). The switch has clear peaks and valleys when in its “on” position and is a more subtle, individual diamond when the switch is in its “off” position. The chamfered edges give a bright highlight to emote the snow in the reference image. The divot adds a contrast to the intensity of the mountain inspired design, while also giving indication of what to interact with.
